Keep noise down around homes, follow local signs and dress appropriately away from bathing areas. Avoid blocking narrow lanes when stopping for photographs.
In nature
Stay on marked routes and follow park rules. Do not collect plants or enter closed areas. Swimming is prohibited in Plitvice Lakes National Park.
At the coast
Keep litter and cigarette ends out of the sea. Respect marked swimming zones and leave space around working harbours.
Support the local economy
Use local guides where they add understanding, buy from producers and give smaller destinations enough time to benefit from your visit.
